Kannada Rajyothsava was celebrated on 10th November 2014 by T.John Institute of Technology. On this occasion Kannada flag was hoisted in the quadrangle by Dr. HN Thippeswamy, Principal, TJIT and Mr.Roy M Raju ,Administrator, TJGI at 1040AM after conducting pooja to Goddess Bhuvaneswari along with faculties and student of the Institution. Naada Geethe was played after the flag hoisting. Dollu Kunita (internationally recognized folk art from Karnataka) was performed by a team from Pondavapura, Mandya District during the occasion.
Cultural activities were conducted from 0230 PM onwards in the Auditorium with an invocation song and lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Mr. Suhas, Assistant Professor, CSE Department delivered welcome address. Mr. T Thimmesh, President, Bengaluru city district Kannada Sahitya Parishad was the chief guest, who spoke about the Kannada literature and remembered the giants of Kannada literature. He said that the first parliament session about eradication of caste and uniting the people was held at Anubhava Mantapa (presently located in Basava Kalyana, Bidar District) in 12th Century which was presided by famous social reformer Shri Basavanna. Akka Mahadevi and a large number of Social workers attended the session.
Mr. Karthik Jayaram, well known film artist was the guest of honor. He advised students to complete the studies first and then they can choose the profession whichever they want.
Dr. AM Nageswara Yogi, spoke about the Kannada Nadu during the reign of Amoghavarsa Nrupathunga who wrote “Kavirajamarga” which describes that Kannada Nadu encompassed from River Godavari in the north and River Cauvery in the south.
An excellent documentary about Karnataka was prepared and presented by the students of TJIT.
Dr. HN Thippeswamy, Principal in his address appreciated the efforts of students and faculties in conducted the Rajyothsava in a befitting manner. He appreciated that documentary prepared by the students is an excellent and includes almost all the aspects related to Kannada and its culture.
Mr. Sunil Kumar M, Associate Professor, MCA Department proposed the Vote of Thanks and thanked the entire team of students and faculties who were responsible for successful conduct of the celebration. He also thanked the Management and the Principal for solidly supporting the team.
Master of ceremony Mrs. Kanchana, and Mr. Guruprasad Assistant Professors of ECE Department conducted the program very smoothly.
Mr. Karthik, Assistant Professor of ECE Department has shot the glimpses of Rajoyothsava .
After this cultural activities were performed on the stage beginning with Dollu Kunita, Classical dance, Singing, Tabla and drum by Students of TJIT.
