BLAZE 2k19- Detailed report of the event Spectacular and Breathtaking event to remember

The power packed two-day inter college fest “BLAZE” on 19th and 20th September 2019 was held in the T. John College premises in a spectacular manner. The caption of BLAZE says – A spark can set it ablaze! It was a mesmerizing response and the students set the event on blaze. The grand event started with registrations of around 1300 participants from 99 colleges across Bangalore, with welcoming the dignitaries and the participants. Professor Ms.Sandhya hosted the programme and welcomed:

The lighting of the lamp ceremony was performed by the Chief Guest Mr. Prasanth Nair, IAS Officer, Our Honorable chairman Dr. Thomas P John and Rev. Sister Rosemary Balappa, Principal, T John College.

Our Honorable chairman Dr. Thomas P John gave the presidential address. It was quick yet thought provoking. He spoke eloquently and encouraged the students to Dream big, pursue their dreams and achieve it. He concluded saying dreams are not those which come while we are sleeping, but dreams are those that don’t let you sleep. He asked to “dream as big as you can imagine”.

Next the chief guest Mr.Prasanth Nair, IAS Officer, delivered a valuable speech (He is a civil servant and member of the Indian Administrative Service, serves as a Managing Director of Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation. He graduated Law from the University of Kerala. In 2007, he was selected to the Indian Administrative Service (4th rank all India) and borne on the Kerala cadre. He has served in various capacities and in various sectors including Tourism, Taxation, Roads, Water supply, Skill Development etc.,

Mr. Prasanth is considered as a pioneer in using the social media for governance in India. Even now, Collector Kozhikode Facebook page is the most followed district administration page in India.

He has also served as a speaker at various media and development forums including  the UN University-Bonn, TEDX, LBSNAA-Mussoorie, IIT, IIM, IRMA just to name a few.)

In his speech Mr. PrasanthNair gave much importance to the need. He encouraged the students for their laudable talents. “With great power comes a great responsibility”. He shared great stories about his poor and ordinary friends from interiors of Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand, how they became IAS officers with the right goal and passion.

He spoke that students are very creative and innovative and should set clear goals and study. They should understand why they wanted to serve the Society. To be good humans, to keep transforming and to keep changing. He concluded saying Education is the key and students should inspire galaxies of generation.

Invocation of God’s Blessing and Declaration of Blaze 2019 was done by Rev. Sister Rose Mary Balappa, Principal T.John College.

Dr.Karthikeyan, Director of MBA and Head – IQAC, T John College, gave the vote of thanks and conveyed his heartfelt gratitude for accepting the invite and making BLAZE a mega successful event.

 Distinguished guests, elite staff and the students of the college also attended the inaugural function.

Two days were planned with lot of Fun-Filled Activities:

First day Included:

Onstage- Solo-Singing, Solo Dance, Group Dance, Beat Boxing, Mr/Miss Blaze.

Offstage- front office quiz, interior designing, blending legacy, cookery comp, doodle art, camera on roll, pixel o graphy, master minds it quiz, brainy o memory, mariners (treasure hunt), face art, sketching, tattoo making, best manager, business quiz, mad ad show, channel surfing.

Second day Included:

Day two was the exuberant sports event Table Tennis, Football, carrom, volleyball, gully cricket, and Throw Ball. For the Winners, Runners up and Participants, prizes included Cash, Trophies and Certificates.

It was indeed a delightful day and treat to everyone who participated. The BLAZE 2019 witnessed uniqueness. Students were enthusiastic and highly energetic and stayed motivated till the end. Everyone enjoyed the splendid performance and the team spirit. With God’s blessings everything went well beyond our imagination. The BLAZE 2019 was a great Success!
