Guest lecturing on “PROGRAMMING LOGICS”

Guest lecture was conducted for second semester BCA students on the topic:” Programming Logics” On 31/01/2019 at 1.30Pm to 2.30 pm. The session was conducted by Mr. Sunil Kumar M, Associate Prof, Information Science and Engineering Department, TJIT and provided students with information on methods to implement easy logic in programming. Apart from being interactive, the methods discussed were very simple and easy implementable. The talks basically focussed on avoiding mathematical operators, to frame a structured program and increase the speed of programming.

Ethnic Day & Republic Day Celebration

In the era of modernization and westernization when most of the people are moving away from their own culture and history, events like Ethnic day enable the young generation to revive love and respect for their own culture and history.

Ethnicity plays a major role in how students’ personality is shaped.  The students were provided with an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of vibrant and colourful India. The whole campus seems to be charged with ethnic atmosphere. When a mini India was created with students in their dazzling, colourful, exquisite traditional apparels.

The Ethnic Day in T JOHN COLLEGE was celebrated on 26th January 2019 which was also a republic day. The theme for the big day was “UNITY IN DIVERSITY”. The day was composed of two big events Rangoli and Dance competition.

The day started with Flag hoisting, rangoli competition, dance competition followed by declaring the winners of the day. The Department of Computer Applications won the First place.

It was indeed a pleasant break from the monotony and the subtle major impact- the feel good factor had a very favourable effect.

International Conference Research Paper Presentations

Research Paper Presentation by Faculty Members, Department of Management Studies, TJC at the International Conference on Global Entrepreneurship- 28th & 29th January 2019

T.John College and the Department of Management Studies made its presence felt in the International conference on “Global Entrepreneurship – Emerging Opportunities and Challenges”, through highly acclaimed empirical paper presentations. The conference was organised by Bangalore University in association with ICBE (Indian Council for Business Education) and Lincoln University, Malaysia, on 28th and 29th January, 2019 at Jnana Jyothi Auditorium, Central College Campus.


The papers were prepared and presented by – Dr. C Karthikeyan, Director- Department of Management Studies and Assistant Professors – Mr. Gopan G S, and Mr. Krishnarao.


The papers entitled “Exploratory Study On Prevalence Of Entrepreneurial Thinking Among College Students Pursuing Commerce And Management Studies With Special Reference To Self Financing Institutions” and “Exploratory Study On Psychological Bearing And Entrepreneurial Potential For Career In Entrepreneurship For Commerce And Management Students In Self Financing Colleges”, were prepared keeping in mind the theme of the conference.


The conference also marked the 3rd convention of ICBE. The conference witnessed panel discussions, lectures, guest talks, and other deliberations. The faculty members were active participants in these deliberations.


Toastmasters leadership Training Programme

Toastmaster’s leadership Institute organised a Leadership Training Programme was on the 27th of January 2019 at Infosys main campus, Electronic city.

The Students reported for completing the registration process and proceeded to the respective rooms as per their designations. The session started with an ice breaking introduction speech given by all the Toastmasters, followed by a group activity which focused on team building.

The second session was hosted by a senior toastmaster, she captured all the attention throughout the session by narrating. Her journey at Toastmaster’s, her experiences and stories paved way for the to students to understand the significance of this course better.

The last session of the day was an interactive session with a Senior toastmaster. He was associated with Toastmasters for 25 years, he knew best to how engage the audience with his humorous yet inspirational thoughts. Liveliness portrayed by him and the delivery if the topic throughout the session arouse a hope in the students to embrace all the opportunities that life is about to offer

NSS Volunteers of T.John College participating in an International Fund Raising event – OXFAM Trail Walk 2019

Oxfam Trial Walk is a unique fundraising international event to eliminate poverty. Oxfam Trial walker is an International NGO, who have conducted similar Fundraising event in different countries like Canada, Australia, UK etc. T.John College association with OXFAM INDIA for eighth time in a row from 2012.

Volunteers from NSS Unit of T.John College volunteering themselves in service and participation in one of the countries’ big fund raising event for social cause on 18th Jan 2019. Check Point 2 on the trail walker track of 100 kms distance is sponsored by T.John College, it is a unique check point among other 9 check points on the track which is fully given to and managed by student volunteers.

Over there the students had to help the people who were walking 100 kms for the cause “WALK FOR EQUALITY”. The students enjoyed a lot while working to support the people who were walking for a noble cause. The students learnt how to work under pressure and the importance of team building.  Students get a real time experience in managing a full fledged event by managing resources, handling people, team work, delegation of task etc. It was an experience of a lifetime for the students leaving them with lessons in importance of social responsibility. There was an immense support and encouragement to student volunteers from Dr. Shikha Tiwari, Principal T.John College. The students were accompanied by Mr. Govind Kumar, Physical Education Director and the program was Co-ordinated by Mr. Arun Kumar.R, In-Charge – National Service Scheme Unit, T.John College.
