“Say No To Drugs” Anti-Drug Campaign Rally by NSS Volunteers of T.John College in Campus

The Honourable Deputy Chief Minister and the Home minister of Karnataka Dr.G.Parameshwara has directed that all the educational institutions in the city to cooperate with the Bengaluru Police officials in nabbing the drug peddlers. In order to discuss and address the issue of drug menace in the city, the Bengaluru City Police held a meeting with educational institutions on 27th August 2018 in NIMHANS Conevention Center. Dr. BN Gangadhar, Director, National Institute of Mental Health And Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) said that educators in schools and colleges who interact with their students on a daily basis could look out for symptoms among their students and help them avoid later risks. Mr. Arun Kumar.R, NSS Coordinator from T.John College represented and attended the meeting.

In connection to this, NSS Unit of T.John College under the guidance of Principal, Dr.Shikha Tiwari had taken up the initiative of spreading awareness amongst the students about the ill effects of usage of drugs. The NSS Volunteers prepared charts and showcased it to others by conducting a Anti-Drug Campaign Rally in T.John College Campus on 31st August 2018.



T. John Institute of Technology conducted its 13th Induction programme on 8th August,2018 for the students of first year Engineering. The programme started with the registration of newly joined students and was inaugurated by lighting of lamp. Dr. Arun Vikas Singh, Principal, TJIT, delivered the inaugural address and welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr.Thomas .P.John, Chairman, T.John Group of Institutions, Bengaluru .He advised the students with words of wisdom. Wg.Cdr.(Retd.) David Yohan, Advisor (Administration) to the Chairman, TJGI, Bengaluru was the Guest of Honour. Mrs. Dechamma K.K, First year co-ordinator, briefed the students on VTU & TJIT rules and regulations. The programme was graced by Administrator Mr.Roy M Raju, Principals of other colleges of TJGI, HOD’s of various Departments, parents, teaching & non-teaching staff. The programme was ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Shyamali Banerjee, Department of Humanities & Science and was compeered by Ms.Manasa, Department of Mathematics & Mrs.Nisha Joy, Department of ECE.
