Cake Mixing Ceremony- 2017 by BHM Department


The BHM Department organized the traditional Cake Mixing Ceremony on 15th Nov 2017 with the active involvement of all staff and students of the department. The annual Cake Mixing Ceremony is a traditional event which is done year after year which marks the beginning of the Christmas season. The spirit of Christmas was manifested by this occasion. Different types of rich dry fruits and nuts were mixed with wines and spirits along with other essential ingredients to enhance the flavor and taste of the Christmas Cake. The entire staff of T John Group of Institution graced this occasion and got involved in the cake mixing process.
The ceremony had the esteemed presence of Dr Thomas P John – Chairman of T John group of Institutions , Ms. Neha – L&D Manager Crowne Plaza Bangalore , Mr. Jeyaraj, Chef Army Institute of Hotel Management , Dr. Shikha Tiwari – Principal: T. John College, Mr. Roy M Raju – Administrator: T. John Group of Institutions, Ms. Hemalatha Doddamani – Vice Principal: T John College, and all other Principals, HODs and staff of the different colleges in the campus of T John Group of institutions. And indeed the ceremony was a great success.

Kannada Rajyotsava Celebration

The 62nd Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated on 1st November, 2017 at T. John Institute of Technology, Bengaluru as “Namma Habba”. Kannada Rajyotsava is the festival of Karnataka state and is celebrated to commemorate the formation of Karnataka state. The event was celebrated with great joy and vigour at TJIT. The entire college wore a festive look where all were seen in an ethnic wear. The Karnataka flags were at different locations all over the campus.
The event started by students of TJIT holding 100 meters of karnataka flag starting from Bannerghatta road to the campus and Dollu Kunitha team accompanied them. The Karnataka flag was hoisted by our honourable Chairman Dr. Thomas P John, TJGI, Dr. H N Thippeswamy, Principal, TJIT, Prof. Krishne Gowda, Retired Principal, St. Philomina College, Mysore , Mr Y V Gundurao, Retired AGM, Nabard, Bengaluru, Dr Prabhakar Redyy, Chairman, Sai Educational institutions and all HOD’s, Staff and students of TJIT. This was then followed by Nadda geethe.
The event continued as few more guests joined the inaugural programme. Mr. Niranjan Deshpande, Actor, Kannada Film Industry and Mr. Keerthi Kumar, Actor, Kannada Film Industry and Kannada premi. The guests spoke on beauty and simplicity of Kannada language and encouraged students to learn Kannada. The old students also attended the function.
The cast and crew of upcoming Kannada films “Athma” and “ Janther Manther” were also present and Janther Manther actors entertained the gathering by their performances. Whole day was celebrated with great zeal by all which was followed by cultural programmes by the present and old students of our college including fashion show all showcasing the importance of Kannada language, its rich culture, tradition and remembering most of the great kannada personalities.
