LAMP LIGHTING AND GRADUATION CEREMONY


John College of Nursing celebrated Lamp Lighting ceremony of 14th Batch B.Sc Nursing students and Graduation Ceremony of 10th batch B.Sc Nursing students on 23rd February 2017 at 11:00 am, TJGI parish auditorium.
The Chief Guest, Lt. Col. SUMA K.S. (Retd.) Chief Nursing Officer, Sagar Hospitals, Bangalore, Guest of Honor, Prof. Sunitha K S, Principal, Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Bangalore, Dr. Thomas P John, Chairman, TJGI, Wg Cdr (Ret’d) David Yohan, Academic advisor, TJGI, Prof. Gladish George, Principal, TJCN and one of the graduates lighted the traditional lamp and inaugurated the programme.
An invocation song was sung by the college choir and Mrs. Monika Paul, HOD of Community Health Nursing welcomed the gathering.
Prof.Gladish George, Principal read out the annual report of the college.
Lt. Col. Suma K.S and Prof Gladish George lighted the lamp of 1st year B.Sc (N) students. Lt. Col. Suma K.S read out The Nightingale Pledge and the students took the pledge by holding lighted lamp in their hand.
Thereafter, the graduation ceremony was held. Guest of Honor, Prof. Sunitha K S, Principal Prof. Gladish George and Chairman, Dr. Thomas P John distributed the certificates and mementos to the graduates. The graduates took the oath read out by Prof Sunitha K S
Academic Advisor Retd. Wing Commander Mr. David Yohan motivated the students with inspirational thoughts. The dignitaries distributed the awards and prizes to the winners in the academics. Mrs.Rosamma Joseph, Asso. Professor proposed vote of thanks followed by Recession of the graduates and Lamp Lighting students.

TIMS-Habba


T John Institute of Management & Science conducted the TIMS HABBA, an inter-collegiate cricket and cultural event, on 10th and 11th of February for the Third time in order to encourage the students to showcase their talents.
The fest was inaugurated by Mr. Roy. M. Raju Administrator TJGI Group and Dr. Bijoy Mishra, Principal-TIMS. Once the fest was declared open by Dr. Bijoy Mishra, Principal TIMS, various on stage and off stage events, were started. The on-stage events conducted were Solo Dance, Solo Singing, Group Dance and Fashion show. The judges for Dance and Fashion show were Mr. Sharath, Mr. Franklin Mr. Nagendra M.J, Who are professional Choreographers and that for singing was Mr. Stephen who is a professional Music Director in Kannada Movies. The off-stage events like Bridal makeup, Mehandi Design, Collage Making and Vegetable Carving were also conducted. Students from various colleges participated in these events with enthusiasm. Overall 19 colleges participated in cultural events. The various winners for the culture events are as follows:

The winners of the above events were awarded with Trophies and Cash Prizes.
TIMS Habba- Cricket tournament had also a huge turnout of 17 teams from different colleges like The Oxford College, SNR Degree College, Sai Ram Degree College and many more. The tournament was spread over 2 days with 16 matches. The Oxford College of Business Management and Sai Ram Degree College qualified for finals. The Oxford College of Business management won the tournament with a lead of 05 Wickets and got the Rolling Trophy along with the Cash prize and Sai Ram Degree College was declared as Runners Up and won the runner Trophy along with cash prize. Mr. Vinod from The Oxford College of Business Management won the Man of the series. The various trophies to winners were distributed by Dr. Bijoy Mishra Principal TIMS, Mr. Roy M. Raju and Prof. Shijimol HOD TIMS.
The TIMS HABBA 2017 was a grand success. We congratulate all the winners of various events, and appreciate the efforts put up by our faculty coordinators and students of TIMS to make this event a memorable one.
