NAAC visit to T John College

The 3-day NAAC peer team visit for re-accreditation process began from 15th December. The members of the team are Dr. BaishnabCharan Tripathy, Chairperson, Dr.TharsisJoseph, Member Coordinator, Dr. N.VasugiRaja, Member.
The team was received at the main lobby. There was a welcome meeting in the VIP room. This was followed by the Principal’s presentation in the boardroom. The team later visited The BHM, MBA and M.Com department for the presentation and checked the facilities. The team visited the Research cell, Placement cell, Housekeeping, Phoenix and Front Office Lab.
The IQAC presentation was held in the front office lab.This was followed by a meeting cum working lunch with the management at the Prerana Restaurant. The team then visited the FAD department, Language department, computer department and labs as well as the Bio. Science department.
There was a student interact session in the CTL Seminar Hall following which they visited the Alumni cell facility. After tea break the team interacted with the Alumni and parents in the CTL Seminar Hall.This was followed by a very impressive cultural program put up by the students of T John College.The Chairperson of the Peer team congratulated the students for their performance.The team was escorted back to the hotel after the programme.
On Day 2 the NAAC Peer team was received at Principal’s Office. The team visited the Centre for Teaching & Learning followed by presentation. The team later visited the Infirmary, Women Cell, BBA Department, and BA Department for the presentation and checked the facilities. The team also visited Gym & Fitness room where students demonstrated body building & Judo stunts. The team visited UG & PG Library. The lunch was organized in Phoenix Restaurant, followed by visit to NSS Cell, Student Welfare Cell and Student Counselling Cell.
The team visited Boy’s Hostel, Finance & HR Department. There was a Teaching & Non-Teaching staff interaction With NAAC Peer team in the CTL Seminar Hall separately. This was followed by Club exhibition & Document verification.
On Day 3 the exit meeting was conducted where peer team Report (PTR) was shared with the Principal of T John College.

An International Seminar presentation by TJCP Role of Clinical Pharmacist in Cardiovascular Therapy

T John College of Pharmacy organized one day International seminar on “Role of Clinical Pharmacist in Cardiovascular Therapy” on 12th December 2016. Dr K. Ravindranath, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, was the chief guest on this august occassion.

1. Dr Alben Sigmani, Head Clinical Research, Narayana Hrudalaya, Bengaluru, spoke on Pharmacotheraphy of anticoagulants. He explained about various anticoagulants and a clinical tool “CHADS” scoring pattern for determining need for warfarin.

2. Dr Scott Gier, Director of Pharmacy, Wyandot Hospital,Ohio, USA, spoke on pharmacist managed warfarin clinic in delivering optimum cardiovascular therapy.

3. Dr Chandrasekar, Professor of Pharmacy, University of Findlay, Ohio, USA, spoke about the scope of Pharm. D in the global scenario. The programme successfully ended with formal valedictory function and the delegates were given participation certificates.

TIMS Organized a one day National Conference on ” Transforming India Through Innovation and Entrepreneurship”

T John Institute of Management & Science (TIMS) organized a one day National Conference on December 6th 2016 on ” Transforming India Through Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. In the auspicious occasion of the inaugural session of the conference in the presence of dignitaries such as Chief Guest- Mr.Mustafa PC, Co-Founder & CEO of ID Fresh Foods (India) Pvt. Ltd , Key Note Speaker- Dr.Vivek Moorthy,Professor IIMB, Guest of Honour- Dr.K.Chandrashekar, Co-Founder & CEo , Forus Health Pvt. Ltd and presided by Dr. Thomas P. John (Chairman , T John Group of Institutions). The conference was attended by industrialists, academicians, research scholar and students from all over India.

Principal, TIMS Dr. Bijoy Mishra, welcomed the gathering by stressing on the importance of innovation for transforming India to a developed country. In the key note address, Dr.Vivek Moorthy gave an insight on various aspects of Demonetization and its impact on economy. He also illustrated how government spending influences corruption. The Chief Guest, Mr. Mr.Mustafa PC, shared his experience and challenges he faced in the path of becoming a successful entrepreneur. He also explained how the innovative concept of Trust Shop helped him in the gain the trust of customers and elaborated how he gave priority to the customers’ psychological needs which also added to his success. The Guest of Honour, Dr.K.Chandrashekar spoke about how he got the idea of starting up of an enterprise and innovation helped him in the growth of business. Dr. Thomas P.John spoke on influence of mind in human life and how mind control helps to lead a positive life. Prof. R.V.Naveenan, Co-Convener of the Conference rendered vote of thanks for the inaugural session.

The inauguration session was followed by the Plenary session with the presentations by Prof. K.Sukumaran, Dean & Chair Professor, ,National Institute of Securities Market, Mumbai, and Dr,Ramji Subramaniyam, M.D. Souparnika Projects Infrastructure Pvt.Ltd, Banglore. Prof.K.Sukumaran, discussed about the reforms financial system which led to the innovations in financial market that is the backbone of the transforming India. Dr. Ramji Subramaniyam explained about the innovations in infrastrucrual development and stressed on the importance of vision and mission for enterprises. The conference then continued with Technical Sessions in three parallel tracks wherein the delegates presented their research papers. The Track1- Challenges in Entrepreneurship Development, Startups and MSMEs, was lead by The Chair person – Dr. Geetha, (Head of MBA Dept.,RJIMS) and moderator Prof. Swarnalatha (Assistant Professor, TIMS) with 14 participants. Track2- Challenges in reforming Indian Financial System was lead by Chair person- Dr. R. Duraipandian (Professor, PESIT) and Moderator- Dr.Madeswaran (Associate Professor, TIMS) with 12 paper presenters. The Track 3- Challenges in various sectors of industry namely Agriculture, Manufacturing, Service Sector etc, was lead by chairperson- Dr. Mrinmoy Bhattacharjee (Associate professor, Alliance University) and moderator Prof. Sakthivel (Assistant Professor, TIMS) with 10 participants.

The conference concluded with valedictory session which was chaired by Dr.Anil Kumar, Principal; SSMRV College, Bangalore. The Track chairs explained a brief about the research presentations conducted in the respective tracks. U.Pranav,Research Scholar,Banglore University and student of Sai Institute of Higher Leaning was awarded the best paper presenter in the conference. In the session Dr.Anil Kumar explained the importance and benefits of organizing and attending conferences. TIMS appreciates the effort of all teaching and non teaching staff and students of TIMS in making this conference a success. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Thomas P. John, Chairman T.
