The BHM Dept of T.John College relishes its proud moments with Mr.MIGHARA HULANGAMUWA for having won 4-Bonze medals in the swimming competition at the inter- collegiate competitions held by Bangalore University on 31Augt 2016.We congratulate his achievement, through relentless effort and his passion for the sport of swimming. TJIT (ISE) has Celebrated the Fourth Anniversary of ‘Arise’

The Department of ISE has organized two days Inter-Departmental technical and cultural events/Competition to celebrate the fourth anniversary of ‘ARISE’ (Alliance of Rhetorical Information Science Engineers), the department forum on 26th and 27th August 2016.

The following technical events were organized on 26th Aug-16:

1. Computer Gaming,

2. Technical Paper Presentation,

3. Mock GRE,

4. Code Debugging,

5. JAM,

6. Technical Debates,

7. Cultural Events,

8. Technical Short Film.

Ninety five students n the department participated in these technical events and several of them won the prizes. On 27th August 2016, the cultural events program was inaugurated by Dr. H.N. Thippeswamy, Principal TJIT. The Principal in his address appreciated the efforts of the students and faculties of the department. He also expressed that this should be continued every year with more and more quality programs, so that the students are groomed to become good technocrats. Dr. A.M Nageshwara Yogi HOD, ISE in his address appreciated the students who presented technical papers and said that this will help them in their project work to be undertaken during the final year. The trophies and certificates to winners and runners up were distributed by Dr. H. N. Thippeswamy, Principal, TJIT and Dr. A.M Nageshwara Yogi HOD, ISE. On stage events like Solo Singing, Group Singing, Group Dance, Fashion show and Mad Adds were performed by the students.

The stars of the event were the aluminates from 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 batches. Aluminates addressed and shared their experience in college and their professional experience.

The HOD & the faculties of ISE congratulate all the winners and runners up of various events, and appreciate the effort of faculty coordinators – Prof Sanchitha A, ARISE Coordinator, Prof Chaitra B, Event Coordinator, Prof Lakshmi Holla, Event Coordinator, Prof Srushti C.S, Event Coordinator, Prof Sunil Kumar, Event Coordinator, Prof Sindhu , Event Coordinator ,Ms. Pruthvi H.S, Event Coordinator and Ms. Mamatha, as well students of Information Science and Engineering who made the event a grand success.

The Heads of Department, from TJIT namely Dr. Mahesh T. R, HOD, CSE, Dr. Arun Vikas Singh, HOD, ECE, Dr. Basavaraj Paruti, HOD,Civil, Dr. Sudheendra, HOD, Mathematics, Dr. Radha, HOD,Chemistry , Dr. Vasudevan, HOD, Physics attended the program. Department invited Prof. Dakshayini, Prof. Bindhu Madavi, Prof. Sejal, Prof. Karthik, Prof. Narasimaiah, Dr. Heena, Prof. Suresh and Prof. Vijay who served as judges for events, also participated in the program.

Inauguration of State Level Event Launch on “National Eye Donation Fortnight” By TIMS

“To the world you may be one person. But to ONE person you may be the WORLD”

National Eye-Donation Fortnight is celebrated every year in India from August 25 to September 8, under the National Program for Control of Blindness (NPCB). The objective is to promote the act of eye donation among people. SAKSHAMA – Samadristi Kshamata Vikasa & Anusandhana Mandala, a national level NGO dedicated for all-round development of persons with disability emphasizing on women, children and severe disables. It is organizing many programs under the “Cornea Andhatv-Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” (CAMBA) throughout Karnataka & India.

T John Institute of Management & science in Association with Sakshama and with the support of Nethradhama Hospital a reputed Eye hospital inaugurated this National Eye Donation Fortnight followed by a Blind folded walk in the TJGI Campus on August 25th 2016. The Chief Guest of the program was Dr. Divya from Nethradhama hospital, Jayanagar, Mr. C S Vijaykumar President of Sakshama (Retd. Vice president of Corporate Division, Ing Vysya Bank) was the guest of honor, Mr. Vinod Prakash, Organising Secretary of Sakshama was the key note speaker, the function was presided over by the Principal of TIMS, Dr. Bijoy Mishra. Dr. Divya mentioned on the number of blind people in India and ways to eliminate blindness. She explained various myths and facts on eye donation. She created awareness among the students on eye donation as a legal act after death. Mr. Vijay kumar gave the message of work done by Sakshama throughout Karnataka and their commitment to eliminate blindness by 2020. Mr Vinod Prakash stressed on the eye donation stressed on the eye donation and extended a pledge to be given by all the students to become the sight ambassador. Dr. Bijoy Mishra, Principal, TIMS emphasized on the importance of awareness of eye donation done through this function and suggested everyone to act in this line to contribute to the society. The inauguration ceremony was marked by an educative awareness lecture to apprise the students of the prevalence of blindness and requisites of eye donation. Thereafter, the students were taken for a blindfolded walk to understand how a blind feel without an eye as a part. The event was a part of Social Extension activity at TIMS.

Annual Sports meet held at TJC

Sports day in T.John College was conducted on August 15 ,2016 as part of 70th Independence day celebrations which turned out to be huge success with active participants and enthusiasm shown both by students and staff. The day started with a bang as the very first event was the 100 mts running for the boys. Mr. Rohit of BHM got the first place along with Sugam Parida and Ramshad of BBA who secured the 2nd and 3rd places respectively. Scores of fellow students cheered for their friends and departments.

The day continued without blemish with events such as 100 mts/200mts running ,shot –put ,400mts relay ,and Javeline throw.What was the most fascinating to see was the number of students that came forward and participated in all events In 200 mts running for the boys Mr. Rohit from secured the first place .Mr.Ullas and Mr.Ronit of BHM got the second and third prize .400 mts relay was conducted and Sebin &his team along with Anwar and team from BHM department secured first and third places for the event .In Javeline throw Mr.Bharat of BBA got the first place along with Mr.Glyson and Mr.Jobins of BHM secured the second and the third places respectively. In shot put for boys.

The same events conducted for the girls as well where in 100 mtrs Miss Kaushala from FAD secured the first place in 100 mtrs running race , Miss Priyanka.S and Miss.Chitra Rao secured the second and the third places respectively. In 200 mtrs Miss Pragathi of BHM secured the first place and Miss Kushala from FAD secured the second place. In 400mtrs relay we have Miss Kaushala and team who got the first place from FAD and Misss Pragathi and the team from BHM got the second place. We also have Miss Tabassum from BHM who secured the first place in shot put and Miss Asha from FAD who got the second place followed by Miss Aishath who secured the third place. In javelin throw Miss Pragathi of BHM got the first place along with Miss Girija.S and Miss Aishath of FAD who got the second and third place respectively.

100 mtrs running race and shot put was conducted for the faculty members which was an enthusiastic evnt to watch. In 100 mtrs race Mr. Doddaiah from BT got the first place Mr. Kiran Kumar from FAD got the second place and Mr. Paul from BHM got the third place. In shot put Mr. Kiran Kumar from FAD got the first place Mr. N.Suresh from bhm got the second place and Mr.Govind Kumar the P.E.D got the third place.

We can conclude it with a note that it was a very grand and successful one and all the participants enthusiastically put themselves into the event .

Ethinic Day in TIMS-2016

T John Institute of Management & Science Celebrated ETHINIC DAY ON 13th August 2016, Students came in ethnic wear representing different cultures of India. The students not only donned an ethnic attire but also showcased various cultures, food habits, famous places of that particular States of India.

They also performed in cultural programs like:

1. Solo and group dance.

2. Singing.

3. Rangoli.

4. Cultural quiz.

5. Fashion show.

The energy levels were quite high as the campus was bursting with enthusiasm and passion. The judges selected Ms. Anjali of vth Bcom as Ms. ETHNIC & Mr. Prasanth of III Bcom as Mr. ETHNIC. The overall winner of the ethnic day was V BCOM and V BBA.

TIMS congratulate the Mr. Ethnic & Ms. Ethnic of 2016 & Vth BCOM and BBA students for being overall winner of the Ethnic day events.

Pencil Sketch Competition By TIMS

Arts & Craft Club of T John Institute of Management & Science (TIMS) organized Pencil Sketch Competition on 9th Aug 2016 during Club Hours. 11 students from various other clubs participated in the programme. Students were given three themes – Beauty of Nature, Animal Conservation/ Protection & Climate Change. Most of the students participated selected Beauty of Nature as their theme. They came out with wonderful & creative sketches.
The Programme was judged by Prof. Sumath from Human Values Club & Prof. Janaki from Throw Ball Club. The winner of the Pencil sketch competition is Mr. Ritam Pal from Football Club. We congratulate Ritam Pal for his excellent performance!
