“ Blaze 2016”, A Spark Can Set It Ablaze ,was organised by T.John college on 26th February 2016 .There were various offstage and onstage events coordinated by the various clubs in the college. The literary club of T.John College organized four events which were Creative Writing Competition, Mr&Ms Blaze, Quiz competition and Photography competition. The Creative writing competition had around 16 participants from different colleges across Bangalore and the judge for the event was Ms.Uma Gopal, and Ms. Suraiyya Banu Shanawaaz ,Assistant lecturers T.John College. For this event Dinesh .R of IFIM College won the first place and Mohammed Ahmed of Oxford College got the second place.

Mr.and Ms.Blaze was another event organized by the literary club which was the main event of the fest . Being an onstage event there were 19 participants for it .The event had 3 rounds among which two rounds were judged by Ms .Uma Gopal ,Asst.Lecturer Language dept.T.John college ,Ms.Sucharita Banerjee,Director MBA Dept TJC and Akshaya Ashi Elite Miss India Finalist & Channel V series Gumrah’s team member .The final round was judged by Seema Gowda famous Fitness expert,Akshaya Ashi and Ritu Mantra,a well known model.Sibi Mathew of Kristu Jayanthi college won the Mr.Blaze title with Ms. Kajal of Army College getting the title of Ms. Blaze.

The quiz competition had 20 teams participating with Raksha .B. Chalageri being the Quizmaster and the winners of the competition was St.Joseph Evening College and Army college securing first and second place respectively.Finally the Photography competition had 7 paricipants and was judged by Ms.Uma Gopal.Rohit Baruah of Oxford College was declared as the winner.

The Computer Club conducted events like Crime Hunt,Counter Strike and Mini Militia. For Crime Hunt there were 19 teams as participants and Ms.Puja Sinha,assistant professor BCA Department TJC,was the judge for the event . Kristu Jayanti College and T.John Institute of Management Studies secured the first and second place for the event respectively.Counter Strike had 16 teams for participation and the event was judged by Ms.Jayaprabha,Asst.Prof BCA dept.TJC .The winners for the event was AMCE College and St.Joseph’s College ,securing first and second places respectively.The third event Mini Militia had 8 teams and was judged by Ms.Hymavathi.K ,Asst.Prof BCA TJC. The winners for the event was Oxford Polytechnic College.

Under Manager’s Club two events were organized ,they were Best Manager and Creative Ad . Best Manager had 5 participants and it was conducted and judged by RJ..Raaj from Red FM.Dilsher Singh of Army College won the competition.The Creative Ad was judged by Dr.Mrinmoy Bhattacharya,Mr.Devpriya Dey and Soniya Singh ,Asst.Prof MBA dept TJC. First place was secured by Swami Vivekananada College and second place by Army College. The Gardening club of T.John college organized events like Nail Art , Pot Painting , Face Painting and Vegetable & Fruit Carving .For Nail Art there were 5 teams as participants and the judges for the event was Ms. Tejaswini Puneet Kumar ,HOD Fashion & Apparel Designing Dept TJC and Ms.Hemalatha Dodhamani ,Asst.Lecturer FAD dept. TJC.For the event GCC college secured the 1st place and Kristu Jayanthi college got the second place.The Pot Painting competition had 9 participants and Ms.Uma Gopal was the judge for the event . The winners for the event was Acharya College [1st place ] and Kristu Jayanti College [2nd Place ].Face painting had 12 teams for participation and the judges for the event were Ms.Hymavathi K and Ms.Hemalatha Dodamani , Asst.prof TJC.The winners for the event was Kristu Jayanthi College [1st place ] and IIHM College [2nd place].The Vegetable & Fruit Carving event had 7 teams from various colleges and the judges for the eventwas Mr.Balaji Singh and Mr.Paul, Asst.prof BHM dept.TJC.

The event organized by the cookery club was Mixology and there were 22 participants from various colleges.Judges for the event was Mr.Sridhar R ,Asst. Professor GCC College ,Ms Spoorthi from Liquid Art Bus School , Mr.Prasad from F&B Manager Crown Plaza and Mr. Udeep from Lemon Tree Hotel.The winners for the event were Mr.Arvind from Amrita College Chennai [1st prize], Mr.Kishan of KLE College [2nd prize ] and Mr.Mohith of Christ College [3rd prize].

Cultural Club of TJC organized events like Group Dance , Solo Dance , Beat Boxing and Solo Singing. Ten teams participated for group dance .Kristu Jayanthi College secured the first place and NMRKV College got the second place.For Solo Dance there were 17 participants and the winners were Mr.Nirmal from Indo-Asian Academy [1st place], Mr.Leander and Mr Franklin [ 2nd place].The judges for both these events were Mr.Mahi and Mr.Rohit . Beat Boxing had 5 participants and the judges for this event were Ms.Mohini Bhatt and Dr. Shashikala along with Anish Edger, student coordinator TJC. The winners for the event was Mr.Rishabh from Garden City College [1ST place] and Mr .Shamsher from Kristu Jayanti College [2nd place ].The Solo Singing event had 26 participants and the judges for the event were Mr.Nagen Mongrati. Mr.Ashwini and Mr.Arjun C.V of Army college won the first & second place for the event respectively.

The overall college trophy carrying a cash prize of Rs.10,000 went to Kristu Jayanthi College.Army College were runners up by just 5 points.The Principal of T.John college Dr.Shikha Tiwari gave away the prizes.The fest was a very successful one with around 800 students from 35 colleges participating.All the students of TJC attended in full swing and volunteered enthusiastically in organising the show..Twice the number attended The Dj Nite.Rohit Barker,one of the most popular DJ in India was at the console.Dj Karma too performed and was a hit with the young crowd.The crowd was dancing throughout the Dj Nite.The students of TJC worked 24×7 for over a month to put together an event of this scale.

TIMS-Habba-2016


T.John Institute of Management & Science conducted the TIMS HABBA, an inter-collegiate cricket and cultural event, on 4th and 5th of February for the second time in order to encourage the students to showcase their talents.

The fest was inaugurated by chief guest Indu (trained carnatic classical vocal music and violin and also Bharatnatyam dancer), Asha Sarella (Bharatnatyam Dancer) and by Dr. Bijoy Mishra, principal-TIMS. Once the fest was declared open by Dr. Bijoy Mishra, Principal TIMS, various on stage and off stage events, were started. On stage events: Solo Singing, Solo Dance, Group Dance and Fashion show and the judges for the event, were Indu and Asha Sarella Bharatnatyam Dancer. Santosh and Aditya- Choreographer worked in Manada Mailada- Vijay TV-Tamil channel. The off stage events like Bridal makeup, Mehandi Design, Rangoli and Face Painting were also participated by various colleges. Over 14 colleges participated and the overall Trophy winner of the Cultural Fest was students from TIMS. Ms Pooja Aggarwal from Surana College won the overall cultural events winner and received a ticket to visit shimla sponserd by M/s Land Liesure. The principals of TJGI namely Dr. Thippeswamy, Principal TJIT, Dr.Vineeth Chandy, Principal TJCP, and Administrator Mr. Roy M.Raju could make some time to attend the program. The various trophies to winners were distributed Dr. Shikha Tivari, Principal Tjohn College and Dr. Bijoy Mishra, Principal TIMS.

TIMS Habba- Cricket tournament had a huge turnout of 26 teams from different colleges like AMC, BMS, City College, VET, Jain College, Columbia and many more. The tournament was spread over 2 days with 28 matches. BMS and VET Colleges qualified for finals. VET College won the tournament with a lead of 05 Wickets and BMS College was declared as runners up. The adminisrator of TJGI, Mr Roy M. Raju distributed the programme.

Mr.Ashok Kumar from VET College won the Man of the series. He got a ticket from Land Leisure Holidays (our official sponser) for domestic travels to kerala.

The events achieved grand success. We congratulate to all the winners of various events, and appreciate the effort of faculty coordinators- Prof Janaki, Prof Srinivasa T.V, Prof Sumanth Kumar and Mr. Nagaraj B. as well other faculties and students of TIMS who made the event a grand success.
