Graduation Day, TIMS


T John Institute of Management and Science (TIMS) celebrated its Graduation Day for year 2015 on 28th March 2015, at Chapel, TJGI. Nearly 120 students were part of the Graduation Day Ceremony along with their parents and other invitees .Dr. Thomas P John, Chairman T John Group of Institutions was the chief guest and Advisor to TJGI – Wg. Cdr. (Rtd) David A.K Yohan was guest of honor for the event. The event began with the Graduation Day march by the dignitaries followed by Invocation song sung by Ms. Archana of IInd Semester B.Com.

The ceremonial lamp was lighted by dignitaries along with few graduating students. Ms. Shijimol, Assistant Professor –TIMS delivered the oath to the students. Dr. Bijoy Mishra-Principal, TIMS welcomed the dignitaries to the audience. He congratulated the passing out students and also their parents on this occasion. He advised the students to think BIG and have a DREAM. He also stressed on to inculcate the habit of trying very hard on the Dream so that you won’t be defeated. He emphasized every student to improve the living conditions of India and cited the example of Singapore, world’s No.1 living location. Lastly, he said to have a “Yes! I can” attitude to succeed in life. He further summarized the achievements of TIMS for the academic year 2014-15 with a power point presentation.

Advisor to TJGI – Wg. Cdr. (Rtd) David A.K. Yohan congratulated the passing out students and encouraged the students to participate in all the activities and events organized by the college and further plan their career paths. He advised the students to display leadership in their future roles. The Chairman, TJGI in his address to the students, congratulated them. He spoke on importance of time management giving an example of alumni he met with Pandit Shri Shri Shri Ravi Shankar. He further advised students on changing their outlook and approach innovatively by narrating an example of Late Lee Kaun Yew, the first Prime Minister of Singapore, who established modern Singapore. He further enlightened the students on life skills taught at TIMS that will be useful once the students get exposure to corporate world. He also illustrated on changing their attitude in committing mistakes as they will move to a new corporate world where every mistake is penalized unlike college. Finally, he advised all the passing out students to have a DREAM and chase for achieving it.

For the B.Com stream, Ms. Arati Pal of VIth Sem B.Com was awarded the Highest Attendance, Academic Excellence and Best Out Going Student for the year. For the MBA stream, Mr. Madhan Kumar of IVth Semester MBA was awarded the Academic Excellence and Mr. Nagaraj of IVth Semester MBA was awarded Highest Attendance and Best Out Going Student. The dignitaries distributed the certificates to students for winning in cultural, sports and co curricular events.

Mr. Jishnu, VIth B.Com and Ms. Ashwati, IVth MBA shared their journey at TIMS to the gathering. The course completion certificates were handed over to the graduating students by the Chairman Dr. Thomas P. John. Dr. Ratna Sinha, HOD TIMS proposed the vote of thanks.

Ms. Mythili Kurpad and Mr. Rohin Bhatnagar were the comparers of the day. The event culminated with the T.John Anthem followed by a gala lunch.
