Rate, 2014 by TJIT


T. John Institute of Technology held 3rd National Conference “RATE 2014” on Recent Advances in Technology and Engineering on 26th March 2014 in the College Auditorium. The conference was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. It was aimed at bringing together researchers and experts in various emerging fields of science and technology and also for knowledge enhancement. The conference covered a broad spectrum of topics, such as wireless systems, mobile computing, cloud and grid computing and artificial intelligence.

Dr. K Chidananda Gowda, Former Vice-Chancellor, Kuvempu University, graced the inaugural function as the Chief Guest. Dr. Thomas P. John, Chairman, T.John Group of Institutions and Dr. G.P Prabhukumar, Dean, Academics, TJIT were guests of honor. .The national conference was held as a series of six parallel sessions on 26th March. Academicians, research scholars and students from various institutions nationwide participated in the conference and presented research papers.

International Soccer League – 2014 by TJCP

T. John College of Pharmacy conducted International Soccer League from 8th to 10th March, 2014. Dr. Thomas P John, Chairman, TJGI, along with Wg. Cdr (Retd) David Yohan, Advisor and all the Principals of TJGI were present for the inaugural programme. Thirty two teams participated in this tournament.

Baldwin Methodist College became the champions and King Bello team from T. John College of Pharmacy was the runners up.

International Women’s Day Celebration

T.John College celebrated the International Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2014 at the TJC lawns. The students put up amazing and thought provoking performances. The chief guest for the day was Ms.Srividya Varma, a lawyer and gender specialist by profession, currently associated with GE.

The event began with an invocation song by the students of BBM. Ms Niji Nelson Language faculty welcomed the gathering. Ms Charul Aggarwal, the women’s cell coordinator briefed the audience on the cell activities. The students of the college put up a dance drama Anamika-save the girl child depicting the menace of female foeticide, choreographed by Deepika of 2nd SEM B.A.The girl students of the college dazzled in the fashion show co-ordinated by Megha of 1st SEM FAD.

The principal of the college Dr. Shikha Tiwari and the vice-principal Dr.Nilanjana Basu gave away cash prize to the toppers of the recently concluded inernal exams so that the students stay motivated to perform well in academics.

Prizes for the poster competition held on the 7th march as part of Women’s day celebrations were also given away by the chief guest. The first place went to Zainab and Sarina of IV Sem FAD dept,the second place went to Lillaine and Deepika of II BA and the third place was won by Ghayan Karthik(B,Sc BT),Piyali(B.Sc BT),Chris Offor(BCA).

The highlight of the day was a heart rendering and moving dance drama Nirbhaya put up by our students that depicted the gruesome incident of December 16th tragedy that shook the collective conscience of an entire nation. The performance by our students brought tears into the eyes of each and every person in the audience.The dance drama was choreographed by SIdharth Nair of II BBM.

The event and the poster designing competition were organized by Ms.BovinaSunath, Ms.Niji Nelson and Ms.Deepa K.Narayanan of the Dept.of languages.
