T. John Group of Institutions celebrated the 65th Republic Day on 26th January 2014 at T. John Institute of Technology. The Principal of T.J.I.T Dr.S.Padmanabha hoisted the National Flag and delivered the Republic Day message that youths to remember they are “ Future of India” and to respect 3 M’s, Mother, Almamator and Mather India.

Blood Donation camp at T John College
As stated recently by Times of India that a minimum of 700 units of blood is the daily requirement of Bangalore city due to the increase in road accidents & other ailments especially by the thalassemia patients where the patients need fresh blood every month, the students of T John College in coordination with the NSS cell took an effort to contribute towards this noble cause on 17th January 2014. Dr.Shikha Tiwari, Principal and Dr.Nilanjana Basu, Vice Principal of T John College supported this student’s initiative and helped the blood donation camp to be a successful step towards the social responsibility of the institution.
Lions Club & NIMHANS group participated in the blood donation camp where a team of more than 30 doctors with their group members joined to make this camp successful. The event started at 10 AM in the premise of T John College where students started donating their blood. The complete arrangement was made with full facilities required for the event. Not only by the students, many Faculties, Head of the Departments also participated whole heartedly in making this initiative a successful one. By 2 PM, the total of 100 units of blood was collected. This event not only helped the needy ones, but also gave an opportunity among students to realize their responsibility towards the society.
‘Level-1’ Programme –Centre for Teaching & Learning
The 3 day ‘Level 1’ programme of the ‘Centre for Teaching & Learning’ was successfully completed with the Teaching faculty member of T. John College between 2nd to 4th January 2014.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Abhay Ojha of IIM Bangalore, Dr. Thomas P. John-Chairman TJGI and Wg.Cdr.(Ret’d) David A K Yohan-Advisor to Chairman. The programme was designed to develop core competencies of college teachers.
It concluded with micro teaching sessions by all faculty members and an elaborate lunch at Hotel E-Inn. Follow up evaluation of level will be an ongoing activity for 2 months.
